Bill Beckley was born in Hamburg, Pennsylvania in 1946 and lives and works in New York.
He has shown at the MoMA, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the Whitney Museum of American Art (1979), Documenta in Kassel, Germany (1976), the Paris Biennale (1973) and the Venice Biennale (1975). His works are in permanent public and private collections in various parts of the world: the MoMA (New York), the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York), the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum (New York), the Smithsonian American Art Museum (Washington D.C.), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), the Tate Modern (London), Victoria and Albert Museum (London), the Madre Museum (Naples), the Daimler-Benz Collection (Stuttgart), the Sammlung Hoffmann Collection (Berlin), the Morton Neumann Collection (Washington D.C.) and in the private collections of artists Jeff Koons and Sol LeWitt. He has received numerous awards such as the Pollock-Krasner Grant (1997), National Endowment of the Arts (1979), New York Council of the Arts (1973, 1976, 1986).

Bill Beckley è nato ad Amburgo, in Pennsylvania nel 1946. Vive e lavora a New York.
